The Rainbow Library
The Equality Crew maintains a collection of books ranging from children’s picture books, young adult novels, graphic novels, and workbooks with themes related to gender, sexuality, race, nationality, and other diverse topics. The library prioritizes collecting books with LGBTQIA+, Black and Indigenous representation in characters and stories in addition to authors who are in the same communities as the characters they write about.
As legislation related to the accessibility of these materials in public settings remains uncertain, we are proud to offer an expanding selections of educational materials that might otherwise not be found in schools or libraries.
Our books contain imaginative stories to teach young children about gender, memoirs from non-binary authors, heart-warming stories of queer love, and beautifully illustrative stories that teach us about cultural celebrations across the world, just to name a few themes.
How to access the Library
Our volunteer Librarian is hard at work brainstorming how to get books to you and your family. At this time, we plan to offer “pop-up” events where individuals can browse a curated selection of books.
Can’t wait for a pop-up? Email hello@theequalitycrew.org and we’d love to get some books to you!
